As a student in the Faculty of Arts, there are many experiences you can get involved with that will give you the social supports you need to thrive in your studies and the building blocks to start working towards your future goals, whatever you're passionate about.

Our faculty has a diverse range of disciplines and experiences to offer. We encourage you to approach your studies with creativity and seek new opportunities that will be meaningful to you.

Arts Co-op

The Faculty of Arts is launching a for the 2024/25 academic year. The program is available for specific majors starting fall 2024, with availability for additional majors coming in fall 2025.

Consider applying for co-op if you're interested in integrating workplace experience with your studies. By alternating between classroom and workplace settings, you can apply your knowledge to practical experiences and reflect on what you're learning. 

It's also a valuable way to start considering future career options and building your resume in relevant fields while you're a student.

Study Abroad

Looking to get out into the world while you study? Going abroad is an amazing opportunity to expand your world view and gain global perspective.

Or, if you're looking for something different, consider going abroad for or opportunities to focus on developing essential skills.

Faculty-led Field Courses

If you'd like a more guided experience abroad, the Arts Study Abroad Program (ASAP) may be the right option for you. Each spring, students are invited to earn 1.0 credit while traveling with their professor for an engaged learning experience.

These take you on a unique trip that's focused around a particular topic of study. Check out the options offered each year to find one that fits your interests.

These engaged learning opportunities pair you with partner organizations for projects and placements that give you practical experiences to apply what you're learning in class. There are different models of engagement to choose from, depending on the kind of experience you're looking for – from in-class projects to long-term internships.

Student Community

Your student experience is more than just your studies. The Faculty of Arts has a number of student groups that will help you get to know other students in our faculty and feel connected to our larger community.

The (AUS) is your central hub for student-led initiatives and events to get involved with. The AUS oversees many that host their own events for you to get together more closely with your classmates.

The (LAS) is another great way to meet new people in the Faculty of Arts, while snagging study tips and joining fun events.
