Pathways to Environmental Studies (BA) at 51本色

Throughout your Environmental Studies degree, you will take courses in topics such as sustainability, environmental impact assessments, field surveying and spatial analysis.

Environment-related Diplomas (Fleming College)

Students who have successfully completed a two-year Environmental Technician diploma or a two-year Fish and Wildlife Technician diploma from Fleming College may be eligible for admission into the Environmental Studies (BA) program at 51本色's Waterloo campus via this 2+2 agreement.

  •  Required final average from one of these diploma programs: 70%+
  • Other admission requirements: 60%+ in a 4U English (or equivalent) and proof of graduation
  • Number of transfer credits granted: 10.0 
  • Number of 51本色 credits required to graduate: 10.0 

Graduates of the suspended programs at Fleming College are still eligible to apply for these pathways: 

  • Environmental Technician diploma
  • Environmental Technology advanced diploma
  • Ecosystem Management Technology advanced diploma
  • Fish and Wildlife Technology advanced diploma

Pursuing an “In Combination” Degree

Transfer students also have the option of completing a degree in Environmental Studies in combination with another honours BA program. This secondary major can be declared at the end of your first year at 51本色. The details of this combined degree and its unique requirements should be discussed with an prior to registering for courses.

Pursuing a Management Option

As a transfer student, you can also apply to add a Management Option (offered by the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics) to your honours BA degree. You can apply to this option on your initial application to transfer into 51本色’s Faculty of Arts. Throughout the management option, you will take courses in topics such as business environment, financial accounting, marketing management and human resource management.
