Waterloo – 51±¾É« and the International Women’s Forum (IWF), an organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership globally, are marking International Women’s Day with a special online event dedicated to the successes and struggles women have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
will be moderated by Jane Klugman, real estate broker, president of Whitney and Company Realty and vice-chair of the Waterloo chapter of the International Women’s Forum. Deborah MacLatchy, 51±¾É«’s president and vice-chancellor, will deliver a keynote address while Rosa Lupo, a partner with Gowling WLG and chair of the Waterloo chapter of the forum, will provide the closing remarks.

“Women have made countless contributions in fighting the global pandemic while continuing to foster thriving communities,” said MacLatchy. “This discussion is a celebration of this important work and an opportunity for everyone to share their experiences and insights.”
The panel of speakers will feature 51±¾É« faculty and alumnae who will showcase the brilliant and bold ways women are actively demonstrating their leadership and resiliency while working through a global pandemic. The speakers include Tammy Schirle, professor of economics at 51±¾É«’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics; Donna Duncan, chief executive officer of the Ontario Long-term Care Association; Rebecca Jamieson, president and chief executive officer of Six Nations Polytechnic; and Rahel Woldegiorgis, COVID-19 service navigator at Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre.
Guests will have the opportunity to network and participate in discussions outside of the panel discussion.
