Step 2: Upload Your Documents

Two to three days after you have submitted your online application through and paid the non-refundable application fee, you'll receive an email from gradadmissions@wlu.ca advising you to upload the additional required documentation to the . Please note that documents uploaded to LORIS are considered unofficial and should you receive an offer of admission, you will be required to have offical transcripts sent to us directly from the issuing institution. More information about sending official documents is provided under Step 3: Accept Your Offer.

Each program requires different documents, so review the application checklist, found on each program page, to ensure you upload all required documents.

In addition, each of our programs has different timelines for reviewing the applications. Sometimes it can take four to six weeks or more.

Common Supplemental Documents

General Document Requirements

  • All supplementary documents, including transcripts and test scores, must be in PDF format.
  • The maximum file size is 1.2 MB.
  • Only one PDF document can be upload at a time. 
  • Only one PDF document can be uploaded per checklist item.
  • Secured, certified, encrypted or password-protected files will not upload successfully, please use the recommendations in the Troubleshooting section to fix the file before uploading it to your checklist.
  • Scan documents in black and white or greyscale (colour scans substantially increase the file size).
  • Scan documents at the lowest resolution that produces a legible copy (300 dpi or under). Review the image after scanning to ensure it is legible.
  • If a document is deemed ineligible or missing critical identifying information, you will be notified by email and asked to upload a new document.

Upload Your Supplemental Documents

Read the instructions carefully before beginning to upload your documents.

1. Log in to .

You can log in to LORIS using your 51本色 username and password.
  • If this is your first time at 51本色, you will receive an email within two business days that contains your login credentials and instructions.

2. Click on the “Admissions” tab at the top.

3. Click “Display Admissions Applications.”

4. Click on the hyperlinked program name (typically in blue or purple) in the application menu.

5. The supplemental documents required for your application are listed on LORIS. See Common Supplemental Documents above for the technical specifications of your documents.

6. Click “Browse …” to find and select the document on your computer that you’d like to upload. Once you’ve clicked “Upload,” the file has been uploaded and attached to your application.

7. Once you have uploaded all of your required documents, click “Review” to verify that your application is complete, and that you have uploaded the appropriate documents in the correct order.

  • You may make changes by browsing for the correct file and uploading it (you will be replacing the incorrect file with the correct file when you click "Upload”). You may review your application as often as needed to ensure that you have provided all of the required documents.

8. When all of the required documents have been uploaded and you are satisfied with your application, the “Submit my application” functionality will be enabled (hover over the button and you will see it will light up). You are now able to click “Submit my application” to complete the application process.

A pop-up box will require you to acknowledge that all information submitted is accurate and complete.

  • If you wish to re-review your application, click “Cancel” and then select “Review” to re-verify that you are ready.
  • If you click “OK” on the pop-up box you will lock in your application, and you are no longer be able to make any changes.
  • Once your application is locked in, it is received in real time and no further confirmation of receipt is provided.

Viewing and Saving Copies

When your application is complete (and submitted), you may download the application as one file to save for your records. Note: Reference are submitted in confidence and are not accessible to applicants.

What is LORIS?

LORIS is a secure self-service site where you can view your application and upload the supplemental materials. Registered 51本色 students also use LORIS to add and drop courses, apply for bursary funding, update address information, retrieve tax documentation, review (and accept/decline) any offered financial support, request official 51本色 transcripts and more.
