Dr. Jenna Hennebry (PhD) is an internationally recognized scholar with expertise on migrant worker rights, health and social protection, labour migration governance, and gender and migration. She is a member of the Canadian Council for Refugees Subcommittee on Migrant Workers, the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Migration Research Leaders' Syndicate, the UN Expert Working Group on Women’s Human Rights in the Global Compact for Migration, and the UN Migration Network's Working Group on Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements. She is co-founder of the , and co-founder of the Migrant Worker Health Project and the .
Hennebry has published work on a range of topics (e.g. access to health care for migrant workers, gender-responsiveness and the Global Compact for Migration, xenophobia and migrant workers during COVID-19 pandemic) in national and international journals such as International Migration and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and the (IOM), and numerous other government and civil society organizations.

Some recent projects led by Hennebry include "Mediating Mobility: Temporary Migration and Private Sector Influence in Canada's Immigration System," "Responding to Temporary Migration in Agriculture," and “Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements and Development.” Currently she is working with UN Women on “Promoting and Protecting Women Migrant Workers’ Labour and Human Rights,” an international comparative research and advocacy project focused on three case studies – Mexico, Moldova and the Philippines.
Hennebry would be interested in supervising any graduate level students interested in the following research areas: labour migration, gender and migration, migration and development, transnationalism and mobility.
