At 51本色, we are deeply committed to academic freedom, freedom of expression and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome to engage in research, teaching and learning.

In September 2024, 51本色 established a Freedom of Expression and Academic Freedom Task Force to clarify policies, procedures and how the university responds to community concerns related to academic freedom and freedom of expression. The goal is to understand and identify challenges of implementation within the current framework and ensure the university has the resources and processes necessary for supporting freedom of expression and academic freedom. This work will build on the Statement on Freedom of Expression and freedom of expression policy framework established in 2018/19.
