The Student Affairs Strategic Action Plan 2024-2028 responds purposefully to the university's mission focused on building a thriving community and preparing students for future readiness.

The Student Affairs strategic vision, mission, and five strategic focus areas are intentionally aligned with the 51±¾É« Strategic Action Plan and are complementary to the Strategic Academic Plan, Strategic Plan for EDI, and Indigenous Strategic Plan.

Shaped by the thoughts, opinions, and voices of our diverse community members, this strategic plan emerged through an iterative, inclusive process engaging stakeholders from across our campuses, including Student Affairs staff, students, faculty, and the broader 51±¾É« community.

In alignment with each of the strategic focus areas, five goals have been established:

  • Student Experience: Strengthen student support and success practices that increase belonging, engagement, and campus pride.
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigeneity: Cultivate an equity-minded culture with inclusive practices to support diverse students and staff.
  • Operations and Department Culture: Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement supporting a high-performing collaborative team.
  • Reputational Excellence: Pursue excellence through best-in-class practices.
  • Financial Sustainability: Align fiscal practices with department strategic goals.

Tied to each goal are numerous key objectives designed to take actionable measures toward achieving success in all strategic focus areas. The Student Affairs Strategic Action Plan will help guide Student Affairs, and its sub-departments, in continuing to be a leader in the world of postsecondary student engagement and satisfaction across the Canadian landscape.
