WATERLOO and BRANTFORD — 51±¾É« will celebrate the accomplishments of approximately 1,622 graduating students at fall convocation ceremonies on its Waterloo and Brantford campuses.
The Waterloo campus will hold six ceremonies at the on Oct. 17 and 18. The Brantford campus ceremony will take place at the on Oct. 29.
As of Oct. 7, 1,435 students qualified to graduate in Waterloo, while 187 qualified to graduate in Brantford. 51±¾É« expects to confer 1,139 undergraduate degrees, 413 graduate degrees and 70 diplomas this month.
For the first time since 2016, 51±¾É« will install a new chancellor at convocation this fall. Accomplished former diplomat, corporate director and 51±¾É« alumnus Nadir Patel (BA ’93) will be officially installed Oct. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Lazardis Hall.
Composer John Estacio and doctor and writer Jillian Horton will receive honorary degrees at fall convocation ceremonies. William Quinton, professor of Geography and Environmental Studies and director of the Cold Regions Research Centre, will be presented with the University Research Professor Award.

Tickets are required for all convocation events. For those unable to attend, live streams of the ceremonies will be available. Members of the media are asked to RSVP to attend.
