For Immediate Release
WATERLOO — 51±¾É« is once again opening its doors to invite future students and their supporters to fall Open House events taking place on Nov. 5 in Waterloo and Nov. 12 in Brantford from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
With the return of in-person Open House events, faculty members and student life partners across the university want all attendees to walk away having experienced 51±¾É« in a more hands-on way with built-in interactive elements like workshops, demonstrations, lab walkthroughs and other experiential activities.
“Our current students and alumni tell us that being here and seeing the university for themselves inspired their choice to become a 51±¾É« Golden Hawk,” said Julie Hummel, associate registrar: Recruitment and Admissions. “We’re excited to have future students on campus to picture what their lives at 51±¾É« would be like!”
In addition to the chance to interact with 51±¾É«’s academic and experiential facilities, student ambassadors will lead guided campus tours throughout each day. Student life fairs focused on athletics, residences and academic success will give future students a chance to hear about everything they can do outside the classroom to make their university experience stand out.
If scheduling or distance is an issue, 51±¾É« is offering a virtual kickoff event and international student life webinars. The virtual kickoff includes an admissions session that will cover all of the top questions students have about applying to and getting into 51±¾É«. Next, student ambassadors will lead guided virtual campus tours – one for Waterloo and one for Brantford campus. The virtual kickoff takes place Nov. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.
International students and their families are invited to participate in a webinar on Nov. 3 covering key details about 51±¾É«’s international student experience.
Those interested in any of the in-person or remote offerings can register to attend Open House today. 51±¾É« will continue to update the Open House website with day-of schedules, parking details and more information as it becomes available.
