The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at 51本色 invites applicants
for a tenure-track or tenured Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Advanced Analytics in
Supply Chain in the Operations and Decision Sciences Area. Applicants must be tenure-track
or tenured faculty members currently employed by 51本色. The Canada Research Chairs
Program is a key component of a strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in
research and development (www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca). As required by the CRC Program's
eguity target goals, this position is only open to candidates who identify as racialized/visible
minorities.
The primary focus of the CRC in Advanced Analytics in Supply Chain will be to advance
research that will provide resilient, efficient and effective solutions to the entire supply
chain by incorporating machine learning and data analytics into the decision making process.
The Chair is expected to bring together business analysts, empiricists and theoreticians to
address issues concerning analytics in supply chain, retailing and transportation and logistics.
The CRC in Advanced Analytics in Supply Chain will enable 51本色 to become a leader in the
development of Canadian innovation in the area of supply chain management using data
analytics and be a bridge between academia and industry in this field by leveraging and
building on the existing relationships with the supply chain industry.
The Chair is expected to act as a hub for supply chain analytics research at 51本色 and
coordinate closely with the CN fellow in supply chain management. They will be expected to
initiate new research collaborations within and outside of 51本色. They are also expected to
enhance collaborations with industry partners. The Chair is expected to recruit and supervise graduate students and involve them in cutting edge research projects. The developments,
insights, and results of these projects are expected to be published in top-tier journals that
address issues related to the fields of supply chain management and business analytics. The
Chair is expected to attend, present and discuss developments, insights, and results at
appropriate academic, industry and public venues including the annual World Class Supply
Chain Summit. The Chair will be expected to secure external funding, including SSH RC
funding, and to contribute to the training and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students through their research program. The candidate is also expected to have
demonstrated teaching proficiency and to make contributions to graduate and undergraduate
teaching and participate in the service activities of the Operations and Decisions Science Area.
Research achievements to date will include success in obtaining Tri-Agency (or other) funding,
a strong track record in peer-reviewed publishing, and evidence of impact of your research,
community and industry engagement, and innovation in knowledge translation.
Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs, tenable for five years and renewable once, are intended for
exceptional emerging scholars who were granted their highest degree less than 10 years prior
at the time of nomination. Applicants who are more than 10 years from having earned their
highest degree (and where career breaks exist including maternity, parental or extended sick
leave, clinical training, etc.) may have their eligibility for a CRC Tier 2 assessed through the

The successful candidate will be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair and will be
appointed as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor
level in the Lazaridis School of Business in the Operations and Decisions Science Area,
conditional on CRC application approval.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have
• a PhD in supply chain management or related field,
• an established scholarly record in supply chain management commensurate to career
stage; including state-of-the-art research and/or state-of-the-practice knowledge
mobilization and dissemination,
• demonstrated an ability to publish in top-tier journals that address issues on supply
chain management and business analytics,
• a record that includes research pertinent to supply chain management using data
analytics or the ability and willingness to transition to doing research in supply chain
analytics,
• demonstrated effective teaching and development of courses at the undergraduate and
graduate levels.
