There is no application process. You register for a workshop/course as you’d like to take it. We track your progress and grant the certificate when you’ve met the requirements.

Unfortunately, no. At this time we can only accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Visa Debit.
Credits available on your account will never expire but must be applied to registration fees by our office at time of registration. When you are ready to register using your credit, email our office directly at fswprofessionaldevelopment@wlu.ca with your course selection(s). We will add the course(s) to your schedule and apply your credit to the fee. Any balance owing will be invoiced to your account for you to login and pay online.
We do not offer a senior’s/student discount on our Professional Development program.
No. However, if you have a number of staff that you would like to attend the same workshop, you may want to consider customized training, which can be more cost effective. Contact Lynne Jordan at ljordan@wlu.ca for more information.
Yes! We offer a 10% discount when you register for four or more workshops at once*. Once you've added four or more workshops to your cart, click Apply a Discount under each workshop and select FSWPD 10% Discount from the drop-down menu. If you experience any issues with the discount, please contact the Professional Development office at fswprofessionaldevelopment@wlu.ca before registering as the discount cannot be applied retroactively.
We also offer a 50% discount on additional CBT Level II courses. Once you've completed the CBT certificate (both Level I and Level II) you are eligible to take other CBT Level II courses at a 50% discount. Contact the Professional Development office at fswprofessionaldevelopment@wlu.ca to request the discount code.
* The CBT program is exempt from the 10% discount. This includes the CBT Certificate, CBT Lunch and Learns, the Masterclass in CBT Supervision and the Supervision and Consultation Groups. The CBT Boot Camps are eligible for the discount.
According to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines, only our 12-week online CBT courses are eligible for T2202 tax forms. See the T2202 Tax Receipts page for further information and the required course criteria. 51本色 University issues T2202 tax receipts by mail to eligible CE Students each February. If you believe you are eligible and do not receive your T2202 tax form by the middle of March, email our office at fswprofessionaldevelopment@wlu.ca for verification and assistance.
Unfortunately, no. This is a non-credit professional development program and is not eligible for OSAP funding.
No. All workshops and courses offered by Professional Development are non-credit, meaning that they do not appear on a 51本色 transcript.
You can register for your Level II course before completing your Level I course, but the dates cannot overlap. Your Level I course must have ended, and you must have successfully met the requirements, before the start date of your Level II course.
No. Some workshops are cross-listed between more than one certificate, but you can only use that workshop towards the requirements for one certificate.
Our online courses and workshops are fully asynchronous, meaning you never have to be online at any particular time. You do need to log on each scheduled week to read the course material, complete a short quiz and participate in the discussion questions but when you do that is up to you.
Remote courses and workshops are much like attending in-person, except instead of being in a classroom on campus, the training is live streamed through Zoom. The training is interactive and held in real time (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET).
