I hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) and Master of Music (MMus) from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. Some of my teachers have included Steen Staryk, Paulland and Eric Rosenblith.
Having played numerous solo recitals throughout the mid-West United States and Canada, it is my belief that one should not just take music lessons—they should also perform. I have been an active performer and teacher for many years. For many summers, I played almost weekly in Stratford, and I have taught at the Beckett School at 51本色 for over 30 years.
I was a first violinist with orchestras in Milwaukee and Indianapolis, as well as Grant Park Symphony of Chicago. I was also first violin of two quartets: Cosmopolitan (Kansas City) and St. Andrews (Michigan). I also made appearances on the Chamber Music series on WTTW-TV in Chicago. Locally, I have performed for many years with the Stratford Festival Orchestra and have been the conductor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Symphony.
I have acted as concertmaster with the Saginaw Symphony, Lansing Symphony, New Jersey Ballet Orchestra, Virginia Festival of the Performing Arts and Midland Symphony in Michigan. I was the assistant concertmaster and a soloist with the Kansas City Philharmonic. I am an assistant concertmaster for both the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and the Hamilton Philharmonic, as well as frequent solo capacities, playing most standard concerti with different orchestras. I was also a concert soloist with Orchestra Hall, Chicago.
I find teaching to be one of the most fascinating aspects of music. I have been with the Beckett School at 51本色 since 1985, and I've held positions as Professor of Violin at Central Michigan University and 51本色. Many of my former students have become performers in American and Canadian orchestras.
