I received my PhD in curriculum and pedagogy from OISE, University of Toronto in 2022. I received my MA in curriculum studies and teacher development from OISE, University of Toronto in 2016. I completed my BEd with primary/junior/intermediate/senior qualifications from Queen's University in 2013, following completion of a BAH in Mathematics and French as a Second Language from Queen's University in 2012.
Since joining 51本色, I have taught courses in both graduate and undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Education. I have taught as a Lecturer at Lakehead University and OISE, University of Toronto. Prior to teaching graduate students and teacher candidates, I taught for almost a decade as an elementary and secondary school teacher for the Catholic and Public Simcoe school boards in Kindergarten to Grade 12.
The main focus of my research include elementary and secondary mathematics teaching and learning, teacher beliefs, and equity in mathematics.
I have collaborated in numerous projects such as the Collaborative Inquiry Project: Grade 7, 8 and 9 Mathematics, the Mathematics Concepts for Elementary Teacher Candidates Project, and the Grades 3-6 Mathematics Improvement Project.
I am currently the project manager for the Grade 9 Mathematics Research Project on creating equitable structures in early secondary school mathematics. It focuses on teacher perceptions, practices, and challenges in detracked grade 9 mathematics in collaboration with four school boards.
